- ANSI
- (Abbreviation for American National Standards Institute) ANSI is an American organisation (member of ISO) that draws up uniform guidelines and standards and monitors observance of them. ANSI standards are recognised around the world. The standards for the calculation of the image brightness in lumen are of particular interest to projection technology.
- ANSI lumen
- An American unit of measure standardised by the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) for the lighting power of projectors. This is done by dividing the projection surface into nine fields and measuring the brightness for each field. The average value is calculated from the measured values. The value achieved in this way is termed the ANSI lumen value of the projector. Its unit is lux/m². Rules of thumb of the correct selection of the light power: for projectors in a daylight environment approx. 400-500 ANSI lumen per m² of projected image surface are sufficient. In well darkened rooms or rooms with indirect daylight, a projector with approx. 80-250 ANSI lumen per m² of projected surface is sufficient. The greater the ANSI lumen value, the brighter the projected image.
- AutoScan
- This function automatically synchronises the data/ video projector with the computer’s monitor mode and corrects the tracking (image width) and H phase (fine tuning for optimum image width).
